Systems Administrator

Are you an aspiring or experienced systems administrator looking for broad responsibility at a growing and dynamic company? BlackEdge is looking for a technologists who is excited to learn, grow, and make an impact through a variety of technology infrastructure projects. You don’t need to be a crack coder, leet hacker, or a super quant. You just need to love technology, have a knack for making things around you a little bit better daily, and thrive with autonomy and challenging projects.
 
What you'll do:
  • Care for mission-critical technology infrastructure.
  • Research and diagnose issues with a variety of third-party technology systems, both physical and virtual.
  • Interface with vendors to order new hardware, manage system upgrades, and oversee hardware transitions.
  • Occasional hands on work in financial data centers in the Chicagoland area.
Examples of past projects include:
  • Driven incremental improvements to hybrid work technologies (integrating Google Meet, Workspace, Slack, etc).
  • Manage upgrade and standardization of trading client workstations.
  • Upgrade low-latency trading server infrastructure.
  • Research industry best practices and infrastructure for raw packet captures of trading market data.
What you need:
  • A technology degree (associates or bachelors) or equivalent professional experience (3+ years is ideal).
  • Experience working in a professional technology environment.
  • Exceptional problem solving ability.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts.
