Legal Internship – School Leaver

Location : London

G-Research is Europe’s leading quantitative finance research firm. We hire the brightest minds in the world to tackle some of the biggest questions in finance. The Legal team at G-Research deals with complex legal problems at the cutting edge of technology and markets-based issues.

The role

Dates: 4th July to 12th August

We are currently seeking bright, ambitious school-leavers with an interest in a career in law to join us for a summer internship before starting university.

This is a great opportunity to gain real experience in a wide variety of legal issues, including commercial IP/technology arrangements, financial markets, company and employment law. Joining G-Research as a legal intern will enable you to find out more about the realities of a career in law and work with a forward thinking, innovative and experienced legal team.

During your internship you will gain exposure to a range of areas, including:

  • Involvement in major projects in each practice area within the legal team
  • Meeting with our external legal advisers
  • Conducting legal research
  • Helping the team provide business-centric legal advice to key internal stakeholders

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate is someone with a keen interest in pursuing a career in law and a strong academic background.

As well as this, we are looking for candidates who:

  • Have excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Have good communication skills and can work effectively as part of a team
  • Have a self-starting attitude and willingness to learn
  • Have attained, or be predicted to attain, a minimum of at least 3 A-Level grades of AAA or above (or equivalent level in alternative school leaver exam programme, such as the International Baccalaureate)

You should submit a cover letter with your application to introduce yourself. That letter should detail: (a) why you are interested in pursuing a career in law; (b) why you have applied to the G-Research internship, including any particular interest in finance and/or technology; and (c) particular attributes/qualities which would make you a good candidate for this internship. The cover letter should be no more than one A4 page.

Selected candidates will be invited to interview.
