Treasury Associate - Strategy and Operations

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is looking for a Treasury Associate to assist with firm-wide capital and liquidity management operations. The role will involve collaborating with other teams to manage firm-wide capital planning/forecasting, FX exposure and hedging, and counterparty risks. In addition, you will coordinate treasury operational movements to ensure adequate funding throughout the business. 

Successful candidates will bring an interest in financial technology, capital markets, FX risk management, and process improvement, coupled with the critical thinking skills necessary to optimize the daily operations of capital management/treasury functions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily capital and collateral for trading activities, including calculation of USD and non-USD cash balances, in collaboration with internal teams to optimize capital efficiency
  • Assist in the implementation of projects related to data collection, analytical tool development, process improvement, and automation initiatives
  • Support the rollout of new initiatives in cash and capital management, cash forecasting, and reporting within the treasury department
  • Manage debit and credit balances across prime brokers and custodians, minimizing financing costs and optimizing positions in coordination with Financial Strategy teams
  • Provide comprehensive coverage of cash and capital management, including daily cash operations and FX risk management
  • Bank account management, coordination, and documentation, including opening, maintaining, and closing bank accounts
  • Administration and review of signatories and user accesses for bank accounts and portals, and support in completing the FBAR filing process
  • Coordinate with banking partners and internal teams to ensure compliance with external requests, lead the vendor management verification process, and assist in audit inquiries
  • Manage our credit card program, including requests for new cards, limits, and fraudulent transactions
  • Support senior treasury team members with additional departmental initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Series 99 certification is encouraged prior to starting with the firm, or must obtain license within the first 90 days of employment
  • Familiarity with bank account-related documentation 
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and VBA
  • Strong attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a time-sensitive and dynamic environment

Annual base salary range of $90,000 to $120,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
