The Post-Trade team provides a vital function to our trading systems, handling the processing of trades that arise from our trading strategies. There’s a very important emphasis on the systematic approach taken in this area, as we consider the reliable capture of trades and full visibility of the risks and costs arising from them as a key business risk. This means the team must build systems that give high confidence that trades are always recorded accurately in real-time. 

As a Post-Trade Technology Team Lead, you'll be responsible for delivering and maintaining control systems, facilitating business expansion in the trading department and managing the team. In addition, you'll: 

  • Establish a long-term vision and strategy for Optiver's systems, which will include extending our current systems to scale with our business expansion.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team with engineering, financial and trading knowledge.
  • Develop relationships and procedures with the Trading, Control, Compliance, and Research departments. 
  • Work with existing project teams to build new components that replace legacy systems.
  • Meet key performance metrics to ensure post-trade is not a bottleneck to business expansion and meet key risk indicators on the effectiveness of the post-trade controls.
  • Run the post-trade systems each day to ensure high availability.


Optiver needs our next Post-Trade Technology Team Lead to be someone with:

  • 10+ years' software engineering experience, with a proven record of working with real-time systems and information systems that deal with long-term storage.
  • 5+ years' C++ and/or C# experience.
  • 5+ years' experience as a team lead, with people management responsibilities. 
  • Experience within financial services, ideally with an understanding of financial asset class booking and representation.
