What’s the role?

As the Site Operations Lead (SOL), you will acts as the main business rep of the IT organization at Woodcreek towards Deep Water business organization and Infrastructure suppliers. You will be accountable for maintaining close contacts with the user groups, business teams, including application portfolio teams, to identify structural IM&IT issues and to receive their feedback on the delivery of infrastructure services. Furthermore, you will be responsible of the site integrity and services acts as the business representative for problem, request and change management process. The SOL activates the wider Upstream SOM organization to address structural operational IT issues and/or handle upcoming business requirements.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for safe and successful execution of activities defined as HSE critical, identification and management of operational HSE risks and the development of an enhanced HSE culture, particularly by steering and influencing the suppliers and working with other stakeholders e.g. Facilities Management.
  • Managing the relationship with the business, ensuring demand and new/changed requirements are identified and reported to the correct Business facing SOM.
  • Assuring services are delivered according to SLA, reporting deviations from agreed targets, collecting feedback from the users and reporting the user experience and Escalating serious service incidents that threaten business continuity with the Integration Managers in SOM Service Integration department, assisting with incident and problem resolution.
  • Acting as a focal point for IM&IT changes impacting the user community within their scope, assessing the impact of the change on the business environment, communicating the change with the business community and authorizing the implementation of change.
  • Participating in the Request to Pay process, ensuring service requests are approved, service receipts are confirmed and payments are authorized.
  • Owning the local assets inventory, local spend and be the contract holder for local contracts required for service delivery.
  • Shape consumer demand and uphold the demand policies.
  • Ensuring security and compliance activities are executed in line with compliance requirements.

  • Ensuring the onsite services delivery provide the contracted services and provide quarterly feedback on their performance.

What we need from you?

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a degree related to IT
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Broad understanding of the Upstream business.
  • Extensive experience in IT project management.
  • Evidence of strong relationship and influencing skills with people at all levels in the organization and in diverse cultures.
  • Ability to work with other disciplines in a global environment, and to bridge technical, commercial and IM/IT skills.
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and manage remote IT resources as well as coordinate regional resources and initiatives.
  • Excellent understanding of project management, project finance and TCO.
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure service offerings.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Knowledge of DART and RTOC control centers and familiarity with RIAB, Well Vantage, and other automations services for the community is a plus.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Extensive solid in-depth understanding and knowledge of the Upstream Business including all the non-GI IT service components for automated operation and data analysis. (i.e. RTOC, DART, etc.).
  •  Ability to coordinate IT service management and operations within a multiple business guest in house environment: Downstream labs, Agile, Connext, VWS, Engineering, Exploration, Drilling, Economist , Divestments, Pipeline, and Facilities to provide standardization advice and perform such activities in a highly complex environment.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of JV/NOV Integrated IT Support model and be able to play an advisory role when the Shell Global IT Support model is not adopted by the JVs
  • Strong vendor and supplier performance management skill in driving continuous operational service improvement
  • Good understanding of the Shell Project Delivery Framework
  • Good knowledge of LAN design/implementation/analysis, upgrades, WAN technologies with an emphasis on MPLS, VPNs VOIP, routing and other telecom infrastructure services including DNS, WINS, and DHCP
  • Good understanding and experience of large-scale storage technologies (NAS, SAN, STaaS, etc.) and Data Integrity
  • Professional working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop OS/Server, AV, FLEXNET, Skype, MS Teams, Exchange, Active Directory and other desktop technologies (DTAO)
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Collaboration tools and technologies (TP/VC/UVC/Polycom VC)
  • Experience executing field operations including delivery, installation, logistics, and safety.
  • Experience in supporting organizations, is sensitive to and experienced in dealing with diversity and collaborative-working within a variety of cultures in order to deliver services and achieve business objectives.
  • Expert knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (Change Management, Incident Management and related processes) in support of Shell Global Command Center.
  • Financial understanding with TCO, data analytics skill, dashboard reporting and IT budget development and oversight experience.
  • High performance behaviour with proven track record of delivery against stretch targets.
  • Ability to understand the business strategy, value drivers, processes and challenges and to use this to identify opportunities for IT to drive greater business value
  • Good understanding of technology deployments in the market and their relevance to driving business value
  • Strong business analysis skills and the ability to shape opportunities into project proposals
  • Good communication and influencing skills and a collaborative approach for use in engaging with both business and IT stakeholders
