 Job Summary

As a part of our continued expansion, Targray requires the services of a Compliance Officer, to join our Montreal Office in Canada. The ideal candidate will be a solutions-oriented person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team atmosphere and the challenge of a company having many worldwide complex businesses. Responsibilities will include those listed below.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Implement and manage an effective legal compliance program.
  • Develop and review company policies.
  • Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations, including licensing requirements.
  • Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance issues.
  • Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
  • Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
  • Analyze and identify legal risks and implications of each division, applicable regulations and, also, elaborate and implement a strong compliance program and processes to ensure compliance.
  • Arrange for trainings to all employees on the latest regulations and processes.
  • The role will report directly to the Senior Legal Counsel in Geneva, Switzerland.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a compliance officer role, preferably in a company having international operations in commodities trading. Experience or knowledge in environmental markets would be an asset.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-driven and resourceful.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
