Job Overview:

As a Senior Middle Office Operator, you will play a crucial role in the Finance & Operations team at ACT Commodities, working with a diverse international product and client portfolio. This position requires an experienced operator who can handle the dynamic and challenging environment in which we operate. With our rapid growth in the scale-up phase, we are looking for someone who can drive process improvements and help us implement new software systems. Your ideas and contributions will have a significant impact on our business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of trades for our international product and client portfolio
  • Provide operational support to the commercial teams
  • Settle all deals made by the trading team across multiple countries and regions
  • Reconcile positions across platforms and systems
  • Resolve settlement issues
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, including traders and clients
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce risk

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HBO or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in the field of Operations, preferably in a trading environment
  • Fluent in English and one or more European languages
  • Advanced level of Excel skills and experience with other systems
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle complex situations
  • Deep knowledge of, and interest in, European energy markets
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing new software systems
  • Self-starter mentality, with a focus on achieving commercial results
  • Highly adaptable to change and able to work independently
  • Problem solving and investigative mindset
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior team members
