Job Overview:

As a Junior Operator, you will join our Finance & Operations team at ACT Commodities, working with an international product and client portfolio. This position is diverse and challenging, reflecting the dynamic environment in which we operate. As we experience rapid growth in our scale-up phase, our departments are going through changes and process improvements, as well as new software implementations. You will have the chance to experience this new era of business at ACT and have an impact by making your ideas heard. We are looking for someone who is open-minded, eager to learn, and able to think outside the box.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of trades for our international product and client portfolio
  • Prepare operational support for commercial teams
  • Settle all deals made by the trading team across multiple countries and regions
  • Reconcile positions across platforms and systems
  • Resolve settlement issues
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, including traders and clients
  • Improve internal processes to aid efficiency

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HBO or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in the field of Operations, preferably in a trading environment
  • Fluent in English and Dutch as a requirement, other European languages are a plus
  • Intermediate level of Excel skills (pivot tables) and comfort with systems
  • High attention to details and ability to adapt to change
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle complex situations
  • Knowledge of, and interest in, European energy markets
  • Self-starter mentality, good at working independently, with a focus on achieving results
