Distressed / Leverage Loan Research Internship - Aegon AM

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of fundamental research with a focus on leveraged loans, distressed debt and high yield
  • Provide support to the existing research team, including, but not limited to, updating financial models and other ad hoc research requests
  • Assist in the coverage of a small universe of companies, including the analysis of earnings, news, financials, and other relevant information
  • Maintain spreadsheets and databases that support the investment process
  • Complete projects to further enhance the overall research process 

Required Qualifications:

  • To qualify for internship, applicants must be currently enrolled full-time at a college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Accounting major preferred). Internships are not available for students who have completed their college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship
  • Strong written & verbal communications communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detailed-oriented
  • Reliable, dependable
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or Capital IQ

Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of candidate’s relevant experience and other job-related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
