What you’ll do as an IT Procurement Coordinator at Akuna:

We are seeking an IT Procurement Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Akuna Capital. This person will primarily be responsible for handling procurement and asset management for our IT equipment and assisting our IT Infrastructure team with tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects and problems with minimal supervision. In this role, you will:

  • Monitor inventory and ensure stock is sufficient to support IT and Development needs
  • Coordinate global shipping and receiving of IT equipment
  • Work closely with our Business Operations Manager and external vendors to obtain quotes and purchase equipment
  • Ensure all assets are entered into our asset management system at receipt
  • Provide daily updates for all IT purchase requests to adjust project expectations
  • Perform quarterly audits of all IT equipment inventory
  • Prepare monthly asset reporting for Finance team
  • Coordinate installations and equipment logistics with data centers
  • Ensure electronic equipment is disposed of properly

Qualities that make great candidates:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Information Systems or similar field preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in a high-tech environment and a deep understanding of IT hardware
  • Understanding of asset management best practices
  • Experience dealing with customs to facilitate international shipments
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and multitask
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude
  • Team player with the ability to build relationships with multiple teams
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly
  • Available to periodically work outside of core business hours or on weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel to local data centers as needed
  • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift, carry (up to 20 pounds), bend, pull or perform other physical activities
