Your Role

AQR Arbitrage is looking for a talented developer to join the Arbitrage Engineering team. The Arbitrage Engineering team is an embedded front-office group responsible for the construction and maintenance of research and portfolio management tools. Members of the Arbitrage Engineering team are tightly integrated with the Portfolio Management and Trading teams, sitting on the trading desk, and collaborating daily with the investment professionals to build the tools they need.

  • Work with the investment team to design and prototype portfolio management tools.
  • Improve data pipelines to provide better information for research and decision making.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced software engineers building a suite of tools on a flexible AWS-based stack including Java, Kotlin and Python business applications and web-based Angular front-ends.
  • Access to AQR’s Quanta Academy

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong problem solving, quantitative, and programming skills. Extensive Python experience is required. Java, Kotlin and web experience are preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and vigorous attention to detail.
  • Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
