Senior Financial Analyst

Belvedere Trading is a leading proprietary trading firm proudly headquartered in downtown Chicago. Our traders work hard to provide liquidity to the market through their market-making activities and are the masters of a diverse set of commodities, interest rates, exchange-traded funds (ETF), and equity index options. From the beginning, we began iteratively investing in our proprietary technology and committing to building our systems from the ground up. Our trading models and software systems are continually re-engineered, optimized, and maintained to stay on top of the industry.

Our Business department is comprised of several key teams who work to ensure that Belvedere is operating at the highest level.  We look for passionate team members that excel and their contribution is critical to our continued success. Our Business Teams build and manage processes that strive to improve all facets of the company. Whether it’s human or financial capital, our goal is to drive productivity while enhancing Team Belvedere’s experience.

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. This individual will report to the Controller and work directly with the accounting team as well as with other members of Belvedere's overall Operations department. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of month-end close, daily P&L postings and interest allocation adjustments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is analytical, enjoys a fast-paced environment and is driven to learn and grow within the proprietary trading industry.

What you'll do

    • Maintain books and records for our trading subsidiaries, including daily P&L postings and management reporting, clearing balance reconciliations and assisting with monitoring and facilitating daily cash management processes.
    • Accrue and reconcile fees collected daily via clearing firm with external exchange fee files.
    • Work closely with our trade operations team to reconcile internal trades and assist in accuracy of related reporting.
    • Complete and facilitate month-end close of each trading entity by completing complex account reconciliations, including intercompany balancing, interest, dividend and brokerage accruals, other accrued expenses, prepaid amortization and month over month analytics.
    • Assist with creating, implementing and enforcing accounting policies and procedures and adhering to GAAP standards.
    • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses and capital expenditures.
    • Assist in coordinating and managing external audit work.
    • Assist in value-added special projects as needed across the various accounting functions.

What you'll need

    • An entrepreneurial mindset, ambition, and outstanding organizational skills.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
    • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience ideally within propriety trading or trading related businesses.
    • Self-starting team player who can work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Retrieve, consolidate, and analyze data from ERP System.
    • Professional accounting/finance designation (CFA, CMA, CPA, etc.) a plus.
    • Broker-Dealer experience a plus.
    • Dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to highly sensitive information.
Women and underrepresented groups frequently apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. We encourage you to break that mold and apply. No candidate is perfect; all have a lot to offer. We welcome your application.
