Title: Vice President, Citi Investment Management

Description of the Position 

 Citi Investment Management (CIM) is a group within Citi Global Wealth Investments that manages assets on a discretionary and advisory basis for clients of Citi. With over $80 billion in assets under management and advisement globally, CIM manages a broad suite of investment strategies within single and multi-asset class products. CIM is currently seeking an experienced, generalist taxable trader to join our team of investment professionals and further strengthen the investment management, research, and portfolio construction capabilities of CIM’s strategies. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining trading relationships and executing trades for CIM’s taxable fixed income strategies across multiple portfolios. The trader will provide the portfolio management team with timely market commentary, trade ideas, research and solutions to improve efficiencies and strategy recommendations. The trader will be located with the US Fixed Income team in Stamford CT.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily execution of trades across US Treasury, agency, credit, ABS and MBS sectors, across the maturity spectrum, including IG and HY
  • Source opportunities and propose relative value swap ideas / coordinate with PMs and research to evaluate merit
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with external and internal parties including trading counterparties, syndicate desks, CIM analysts, PMs, risk, compliance, and Citi bankers.
  • Actively participate in strategy discussion, monitor market conditions, credit trends, trading technicals and provide ongoing market color in our team chat.
  • Maintain currency on developments in trading protocols, electronic trading venues and suggest opportunities for trading efficiencies.
  • Take on discretionary security selection responsibilities in select accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, time sensitive, environment and have strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Detailed knowledge of US taxable fixed income markets with a demonstrated history of making investment and trading decisions in a total-return context
  • 4-7 years of generalist trading experience within the taxable fixed income space across the full spectrum of rates and credit sectors
  • Produce scheduled and ad hoc reports
  • Fluency with Bloomberg, Charles River, MarketAxess, TradeWeb, and Microsoft Office preferred.
