Quantitative Compute Solutions Architect (Mississauga)

Citi is looking to hire an experienced Quantitative Compute Solutions Architect. We are flexible on their location assuming it is within our existing sites in Mississauga, New York, London, and Warsaw. This is a Senior Vice President role within the Financial Risk Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of strong business and strong technical skills. The focus for this role will be to deliver projects leveraging the XiNG Platform and more specifically the XiNG Calculation Service “XCS” which provide clients with elastic compute and a consistent analytics interface.

Financial Risk Technology is involved in delivering solutions across all Markets businesses including the central business teams which leverage this data across Risk Management and Finance. Our goal is to build a strong culture of engineering and delivery where we put the business first while achieving all their complex goals of consistency, performance, efficiency, and transparency that a bank of the magnitude of Citi needs. This team develops and maintains XCS which is a service which provides our clients with elastic compute and a consistent analytics interface. This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands on direct exposure to our XCS technology along with working closely with the Quantitative Analysts who will partner with us to deliver robust compute solutions supporting the most complex products and valuations across Markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and strategic direction to the Business Analysts and Engineers focused on quantitative compute solutions.

  • Working with the Technology teams supporting each specific Trading Business to enable their migration to XCS.

  • Working closely with quants to execute large scale compute across vanilla and exotic products.

  • Managing relationships with various stakeholders (Quants, Other technology teams, Program Managers)

  • Ability to be hands on as a Business Analyst and Engineer in this space of quantitative compute technology solutions

  • Ensuring the solution has a working project management and Governance process as well as defining functional and technical specifications.

  • Improving development processes: Includes testing deliverables and reviewing Controls

  • Developing Talent: Mentoring and coaching junior members of the wider team

Essential Experience/Skills

  • More than 10 years experiences in a financial services firm

  • Prior development leadership experience is preferred

  • Engineering or Mathematics background is preferred

  • Python and/or Java experience delivering quantitative technology solutions for a Markets business

  • Knowledge and experience working on large scale compute challenges and solutions including calculation graphs and distributed graph traversal

  • Experience using analytical databases like Kinetica while driving a project to success

  • Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with quantitative stakeholders and front office technology teams

  • Proven ability to conduct research/analysis, organize findings and build plans

  • Knowledge of financial markets and Risk management

  • Experience of working with virtual teams will be preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Educational Level: Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters is preferred.
