Duties: Responsible for quantitative analysis including research and development of novel strategies or the engineering of improvements to existing strategies using advanced statistical methods. Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver trades and anticipate client demand in each respective product/market. Ensure key compliance and work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure. Responsible for improving existing technology infrastructure using KDB, Python, and Linux and ideating novel risk management tools. Assess risk when business decisions are made demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency. Assist with trading using order management systems, generating revenues, and managing risk. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policy.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, plus three (3) years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Employer will accept a Master’s degree in an above stated field of study in meeting the Bachelor’s degree requirement. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Three (3) years of experience must include: Applying computer programming skills to conduct quantitative research on financial market data, company filings, and other publicly available information in languages and application environments including Python, SQL, KDB/Q, and Bloomberg; Generating trade ideas through quantitative analysis, forecast, and simulation in equity markets utilizing programming, statistical analysis, and data visualization techniques; Creating and maintaining automated processes for generating trade alerts, signals, risk reports, and performance attribution reports leveraging technical skills in Linux, Python and KDB/Q; Utilizing modern portfolio theory and optimization techniques in Excel or another optimization tools to create a framework for assessing risks of trading books and optimizing capital usage to enhance the trade-off between revenue opportunity and risk taking; Analyzing and interpreting traditional or alternative big datasets by applying time series analysis, econometric models, and statistical inference techniques to improve hedging, predicting, and alpha signal capturing activities related to managed trading books; Identifying potential trading opportunities and risks, specialized in events most relevant to financial markets including index changes, IPOs, M&As, earnings, index tracking, index benchmarking and index construction; and Executing trades on behalf of clients or the firm using order management systems, risk systems, messaging systems, and other tools. 40 hrs./wk.
