SVP - Quantitative Applications Development Senior Manager - NYC NY

ACE Development Team is a group within Citi Institutional Client Group (ICG), responsible for developing applications for which are used for derivatives risk and exposure calculations Firm-wide.
The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs.
The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.


Responsibilities:

  • utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications
  • review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
  • contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
  •  develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
  • monitor delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
  • ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary
  • appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

The role will involve tasks such as:

  • lead integration of functions to meet goals, deploy new products, and enhance processes
  • analyze complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards to define and develop solutions to high level problems
  • develop application methodologies and standards for program analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • utilize advanced knowledge of supported main system flows and comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas to achieve technology goals
  • consult with end users to identify system function specifications and incorporate into overall system design
  • allocate work, and act as an advisor/coach for developers, analysts, and new team members
  • influence and negotiate with senior leaders and communicate with external parties

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of quantitative experience
  • superior Python and C++
  • Experience as Applications Development Manager
  • Stakeholder and people management experience
  • Proven track record of product management of libraries for derivatives pricing and risk. In depth knowledge of Rates, Credit, Equities, Commodities derivatives is an advantage
  • experience working on Regulatory based projects such as Model Risk, Basel III, Stress Testing, FRTB, CCAR is an advantage
  • Solid mathematical finance and statistical analysis skills
  • Knowledge of probability and stochastic calculus
  • Familiarity with Numerical analysis/Monte-Carlo methods
  • Knowledge/experience with Machine Learning Tools and Frameworks (scikit-learn, Teano, Keras, etc) is a plus
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough and detailed approach to accuracy are essential
  • Ability to follow procedures and operate within strict guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Ability to take ownership and proactively follow up on issues
  • Ability to work in a team and to work well under pressure


Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, engineering or physics.
