Vacancy

Student Employee for Power Trading Operations

Are you intrigued by findings new ways to optimise processes? Do you have an interest in the field of coding? And do you want to join a company that plays a vital role in the energy transition? Then you might be the new student employee for Danske Commodities’ Power Trading Operations team.
Power Trading Operations at Danske Commodities

You will join our Power Trading Operations (PTO) team in which we support the trading teams with their daily tasks, spanning from deal capturing and requesting capacities to uploading bids and scheduling of electricity flows to ensure balance in national power grids. Besides this, we develop business tools using various coding languages with a great focus on process optimisation – we always look for areas where we (and the traders) can become even more efficient.

As a student employee in PTO, you will be working directly on the trading floor and you will collaborate closely together with not only your fellow team members but also with power traders, portfolio managers and trading analysts. This also means that you will act as the link between trading and the rest of the organisation. You will join a young team, in which many of your colleagues are motivated student employees like yourself. In the team, we have a strong team spirit, and we always support each other.

Your journey as our new student employee

We will take good care of you as you learn the ropes, develop your coding skills and make your way on the trading floor. Starting out, your focus will be on the daily routines in PTO and learning how to navigate your new role. During the first few months, you will always be assisted by a colleague who will join you when you enter the control room to support the traders in performing their daily tasks. Also, you will spend your introduction period on learning to code (or levelling up your existing coding skills). In time, you will have the opportunity to impact and optimise the everyday work in PTO and the way we support the trading teams.

You will be right in the middle of the magical place where our trades are executed, which gives you a unique understanding of the business.
