As a strategic Human Resources Business Partner (Chicago-based) to join our team and help support an increasing workload.  The objective of this hire is to expand our knowledge base in the strategic Human Resources space while increasing the team’s overall ability to complete various projects and initiatives.  This includes but is not limited to:  reporting/metrics, marketing & communicating regional benefits plans and streamlining/optimizing the entire employee process at DRW.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage new hire orientation and onboarding globally, including providing a welcoming environment, assisting with new hire questions, explaining DRW’s benefit plans, validating work authorization and other related tasks
  • Process changes in our Workday HRIS system including new hire onboarding paperwork, department transfers, terminations, leaves and benefit changes
  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations as well as invoice management and reporting
  • Assist with benefit plan design, open enrollment, analyzing and sourcing benefit solutions and other compliance requirements such as COBRA, 5500, ACA and the like
  • Field employee questions related to benefits, payroll, policies, leaves and other HR related inquiries
  • Assist with performance review programs including communicating timelines, promoting participation and providing guidance
  • Provide performance management guidance and coaching to managers and employees
  • Monitor changes in employment law and assist with updating and creating firm policies and procedures
  • Design and develop employee communications and postings on DRW’s internal intranet
  • Other HR projects and initiatives as assigned

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 5+ years of HR experience
  • Prior experience with Workday or similar HRIS platform
  • Experience in the Financial Services or Technology industries a plus
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and provide recommendations to stakeholders while deploying a substantive problem-solving mindset and sound judgement
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven analytical ability with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A track record of taking initiative while deploying a keen sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A willingness to collaborate and assist whenever, wherever needed
