This is an opportunity for a talented and self-motivated engineer to work with a growing international company expanding into the US market. 

We are looking for a passionate and technically talented individual to work in a fast-paced environment whilst putting their talents to work in a broad technical role. The successful candidate will be part of our global Infrastructure and Technology Service team and based in Chicago. You will be the sole administrator, in a multifaceted role, responsible for the upkeep of our Trading IT systems, infrastructure, facilities, supporting the end to end trading application and DevOps stack and providing direct trading application support to the Chicago based trading team.

Responsibilities

  • Administration and support of mission critical trading systems and infrastructure in a distributed environment
  • Systems administration of Windows and Linux servers and PC's, networking devices and IT hardware
  • Provide direct trading support to the Chicago and London traders
  • Work closely with global teams on IT related project and support
  • Project work on improving existing systems, processes and automation
  • Assisting Traders and Developers with their technical requests
  • Liaising with external IT vendors and managing their internal tasks
  • Ensure that IT policies and procedures are being monitored and adhered to

What you offer

  • 5+ years administering a RHEL/Fedora environment with automation experience
  • 3+ years supporting Windows PC's or servers
  • Information Technology related Bachelor's degree
  • Broad systems administration experience with key technologies such as: Cisco routers, VMWare, vServer, saltstack, HPE
  • Independent problem-solving, self-direction, highly motivated and strong initiative
  • Ability to meet commitments and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Experience supporting production trading environment, preferably across multiple data centers
  • Strong knowledge of basic networking protocols, TCP/IP, UDP, OSI model Layer 1 - 2 and 3
  • Strong scripting and automation skills. Python preferred
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of equity derivatives highly favored
  • Firewall or access control lists experience a plus
