Join EDF as a Commercial Senior Analyst and you will be responsible for defining and delivering the strategic direction of EDF’s Flex business along with the product roadmap and management.
The commercial team are responsible for managing wholesale and trading services to third parties including renewable generators, small suppliers, and owners of flexible assets (incl. battery storage and gas peaking plant). The team’s activities include quantitative modelling and pricing, NEC forecasting and regulation, contract negotiation and sales, customer asset optimisation and operations and managing the interface with third-party controllers.
The team works in close collaboration with other areas of Wholesale Market Services teams as well as with internal and external partners.

As a Commercial Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for leading the identification, analysis and development of new commercial opportunities which create current and future value for EDF and its partners. This will include delivering new offerings for our customers in our existing capability areas such as Batteries, Gas Peakers and Renewables as well as venturing and trialling new areas such as demand side response, electric vehicle smart charging and Heatpumps.
You will own and support some of EDF’s internal and external strategic relationships including National Grid (ESO), EDF Group and partners. You will also work closely with EDF Wholesale Market Services’ (WMS) partners to ensure change is delivered and implemented effectively.
Your expert guidance will be critical to prioritisation decisions, informing EDF’s Flex Commercial Strategy and organisational business plan.
What we’re looking for…
To be successful in the role, you will be expected to demonstrate strong knowledge and expertise in Energy Flexibility and Storage as well as their associated route to markets (ancillary services and the wholesale market).
As the Senior Analyst, you will be able to show commercial acumen in the development, and in some instances negotiation, of new products and contracts. Therefore, we are looking for somebody with excellent stakeholder relationship, analysis & project management skills.
