The Opportunity
This role sits within EDF Energy’s Net Zero Strategy & Policy team. The Policy team is a small strategic team at the heart of EDF’s UK activities. It provides a crucial business service understanding and influencing national energy policy, providing advice across the full range of EDF’s businesses.
We are looking for a talented Senior Policy Analyst to support the team in identifying, assessing and managing complex GB energy policy risks.

What you’ll be doing
As the Senior Policy Analyst, you will work across a variety of national energy policy topics to understand the potential impact to our business and influence final policy decisions.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping policy and our own corporate strategies by supporting the team to assess and manage risks across three main areas: GB energy markets, grid operation and nuclear power.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, you will provide guidance to all EDF businesses to help them understand key policy risks and in response, help them to shape their business. You will also be required to work closely with external stakeholders, in particular: National Grid, Government, Energy Regulator (Ofgem) and relevant trade associations and/or forums.
Who you are
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. You will be required to work closely with internal and external senior stakeholders, and will therefore have demonstrable experience of building and maintaining strong working relationships.
You will have a proven track record in rapidly grasping and navigating complex topics with the ability to influence stakeholders. You will also have demonstrable experience in recognising and handling both risks and opportunities.
