EDF Renewables UK is one of the UK’s leading renewable energy companies, specialising in wind power and battery storage technology. EDF Renewables UK is responsible for delivering the UK strategy in renewables and managing all the related activities on behalf of the Shareholders.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Policy Analyst, with flexibility in office location. Reporting to the Head of Renewables Policy & Regulation, this role will provide expert support on energy policy and regulation issues for all activities by EDF Renewables in the UK.
As Senior Policy Analyst you will confidently present complex information to Executive level colleagues and be able to explain and justify the company position on key policy issues as well as maintaining oversight of developments across a wide range of renewable technologies and the implications for these for future policy requirements.

What you’ll be doing...
Work closely with the EDF Renewables business teams to identify key issues for the business and prepare policy positions in response:
• Pro-actively track and analyse new developments in policy and regulation across all technologies (including onshore wind, solar, offshore wind, hydrogen and storage) and all relevant topics
• Provide briefings and advice to the business on the implications of policy and regulation developments and develop actions in response
• Work closely with the Public Affairs and Communications colleagues to develop strategies and campaigns to deliver the policy outcomes required to support the EDF Renewables business plan objectives
• Engage externally, building contacts with key stakeholders, participating in relevant industry working groups and supporting other trade association activities
• Support SLT members in engaging with Government and other key external stakeholders
Prepare responses to relevant calls for evidence and consultations on policy and regulation relevant to all stages of project life cycles
What do you need to be great at this role?
As an experienced Senior Policy Analyst, you will have an in-depth knowledge of the UK renewables policy and regulatory environment, together with an understanding of electricity market design and transmission & trading arrangements.
You will possess strong analytical skills, along with excellent communication skills.
As our Senior Policy Analyst you will have a confident nature so you can pro-actively lead on all renewables policy and regulation issues and identify, communicate and manage associated risks and opportunities for the business.

Location: We are flexible on location within the UK with the flexibility of working from home but there will be an expectation to travel to one of our offices in Edinburgh, London, Durham or Cardiff when necessary
