The Opportunity
The Finance Shared Services (FSS) organisation is integral to the development and success of the wider Finance function and delivers a wide range of services to the business including Financial Accounting Services, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Systems Support.
The role of a Senior Analyst within the Financial Accounting Services team is to support and lead on delivering a comprehensive range of financial accounting services to all business units. This will involve leading and supporting the transition of activity from other business units into FSS and from our team onshore to our partners offshore. The team is focused on delivering high quality services and driving efficiency into our operations ensuring all processes and systems are standardised, effective and located correctly.

The Financial Accounting Services team travel to our Glasgow office once a week. You will also be required to travel to the office more frequently for the initial training period.

What you’ll be doing
There are a broad range of activities you will undertake in supporting the management and integrity of the General Ledger and delivering a comprehensive range of financial accounting services to all business units, including:
Who you are
You will have previous experience of working in a customer service environment, as a Senior Analyst you will be able to utilise this experience to quickly identify the customer needs and provide an efficient and accurate solution. You will also be able to demonstrate relevant and proven experience preferably within the energy and finance sectors, as well as an understanding of both industry and business processes. You will ideally be educated to degree level in a finance discipline or be working towards a professional accounting qualification (CA, ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
You will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and knowledge of SAP system or equivalent financial system. Strong numerical, modelling, and analytical skills and the ability to implement and drive improvement initiatives, service levels and reporting.
This role requires a proactive, enthusiastic, methodical, and adaptable team player with excellent interpersonal and customer focused skills and with an eye for detail. Able to communicate effectively throughout the organisation and work collaboratively in a team and on own initiative.
A willingness to take responsibility and assume ownership and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks. You can exercise good judgment in recognising scope of authority and maintain a challenging and questioning attitude.
