FPGA Engineer Intern

Emergent Trading, LLC

On the surface, we are a proprietary trading firm that specializes in high frequency, fully automated systems. At the core, we are a tech company – which means we are always on the move. We are actively transforming the way fundamental economics interacts with breakthrough innovation – and with this hybrid approach, we are blazing the way for market evolution. Emerge with us.

As an FPGA Engineer Intern, you will do more than design and develop infrastructure. We are looking for a self-starting visionary to spot new trends, think up solutions and make ideas a reality. If you get excited about building tight, nimble and dynamic systems, then keep on reading. Around here, you will be a major player throughout the entire development cycle – from system and block testing to FPGA design. Whether you tackle a project independently or collaborate with a team, your passion and can-do attitude will always rise to the top – just like us.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the deployment process of solutions at an accelerated rate, as they are being developed
  • Lead FPGA-based projects from system requirements through production
  • Design new FPGA applications – from syntheses to static timing analysis – and put them in motion
  • Identify, compare, and test the latest FPGA technology and feasibility based on hardware limitations
  • Stay up to date on low-latency techniques and find ways to integrate them

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or a related tech field
  • Experience coding Verilog, as well as C++
  • Fluency in FPGA design flow – including synthesis, place and route, and static timing analysis
  • Demonstrates integrity in all work
  • Ability to brainstorm and generate ideas quickly
