PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Plan and manage resources, finances, scope and services within a functional area of Information Technology to deliver business results. Provide IT products, services and solutions on time, within budget and with the required functionality. Establish, maintain and enhance relationships with clients. Participate in developing and implementing strategy/policy. Manage large-scale projects of high complexity, size and change management risk.
The person filling this role will be responsible for managing Unix/Linux Server and Storage infrastructure consisting of physical and virtual on-premises and third-party cloud-based servers and storage with a geographically dispersed team of full-time employees and contractors. This will include the day-to-day operations of the server and storage environments, driving the future roadmap for the various technologies, maintaining security by ensuring thorough patching/vulnerability remediation and employee development.
Participate in developing and implementing strategy/policy, with a focus on automation and zero touch models in support of this operation. Manage a platform of high complexity and scale, while mitigating change management risk in support of daily operations and the transitional support of projects.
A successful Operations Manager will drive the deployment and operations of new and existing services; find ways to improve and automate our services and provide mentoring for junior team members. The right candidate for this position has a strong and diverse technical background that allows them to approach any problem with confidence and ingenuity.
