Financial Accountant

Flow Traders Hong Kong is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our APAC Finance team. In addition to booking entries to the general ledger, managing accounts payable and receivable, and generating financial reports, the APAC Finance Team stays up to date about new regulations and accounting standards. The Team also focuses on areas for automations thereby increases operational efficiency.

At Flow Traders you will be working on various projects and new initiatives that require your input from a finance perspective. You will notice that no day is the same at Flow Traders and that your planning may be jeopardized by new initiatives, but that is exactly what you like about the job.

What You Will Do

  • Handle accounts payable, account receivables and cash forecasting for Hong Kong and Singapore entities
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and facilitate weekly payment process
  • Handle monthly payroll processing and accounting bookings
  • Be involved in vendor management, expenses management and accrual accounting
  • Assist in month-end intercompany invoicing and current account settlement
  • Support the timely and accurate financial reporting of the APAC entities
  • Initiate, implement and optimize automated processes and systems
  • Assist in preparation and filing of tax returns, GST and various other compliance reporting
  • Work cross-functionally with team members in other departments (Risk/Mid-Office, IT)
  • Supporting on a variety of ad hoc projects as required

What You Need to Success

We are looking for an ambitious Financial Accountant with 2-4 years of working experience, preferably gained within in-house financial institution or a Big Four firm. You have the ability to communicate (both written and spoken) perfectly in English.

  • You are a self-starter and a proactive team player
  • You are a detail-oriented person who demonstrate high accuracy in work deliverables
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • You have an excellent command of Microsoft Excel
  • Preferably database experience (SQL)
  • Experience with Exact and OneStream is nice to have
  • CPA/ ACCA is a plus
