Build Engineer/DevOps Engineer

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Build/DevOps Engineer to join our growing Product Development team in Amsterdam. The Build Engineering team provides automated CI/CD solutions and services to all applications in Flow Traders and to their supporting tools and services. The applications are written in Java, C++ and Python while for the CI pipelines the stack comprises of Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory and Sonar. The team members are not only users of these tools but they also manage them (for example taking care of upgrades and patches). In addition, automation and Configuration as Code are very important and used extensively in order to minimize manual work. Day to day activities consist of both providing build services as well as solving ad-hoc service requests in order to help other teams with their own work (either by offering immediate support, ideas or suggestions).

 

What you will do

You will be responsible for automating the build and deployment process throughout the SDLC.

  • Manage the build and release process for multiple concurrent releases for Java, CPP, Python based apps
  • Build and Continuous integration issues debugging, troubleshooting and providing for long term solutions. This includes good knowledge around Git, compilers, build tools (maven and cmake), CI Tools, Programming skills, and Internals of tools we use
  • Design and configure CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo specs (Both Java and yaml based) while collaborating with multiple stakeholders like Development, Project Managers, IT and Operations teams
  • Participate in deployment & configuration of the application as needed on different non production environments
  • Automation using Python
  • Setting up Policies and guidelines for PRs in Bitbucket which includes quality gates like Sonar analysis, code reviews, bamboo build status etc.
  • Doing upgrades and security patches to the web tools we use, Atlassian apps plus Artifactory and Sonar. This requires strong Linux server, Apache server and ansible knowledge

 

What you need to succeed

  • Strong scripting and Programming skills (Python, Bash)
  • Experience with building Java ,C++ and Python applications. Preferably  good knowledge of maven and cmake
  • Strong knowledge of Linux environment
  • Experience with CI tools like: Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory , Sonar
  • Experience with web hosting and patching. Preferably  with Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory and Sonar
  • Knowledge and experience of Git internals
  • Experience with Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Static analysis(preferably Sonar)
  • Java programming experience is a plus
  • Flexible with high workload and continuously changing environment
  • Work experience with HFT organization is a plus
  • Computing Science or a technical degree
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
