Group Controller job
As our business is expanding, we are looking for an ambitious Group Controller to strengthen our Finance team with a drive to getting things done. In this role, you will work together in a team of two controllers and the global finance department and you will be responsible for all financials of the group.
A day in the life of a Group Controller at Flow:
"When you get in, you catch up with your APAC finance team. You follow up on the local finance projects and recurring tasks and check whether the local team needs your assistance. You start drinking your first coffee, as actually this was the first thing you did when entering the office. Thereafter you start replying your mail from all of our offices and start planning your day. You can be working on various projects and new initiatives that require your input from a finance and tax perspective. You will notice that no day is the same at Flow Traders and that your planning may be jeopardized by new initiatives, but that is exactly what you like about the job. When you are half way of your day, you either decide to go for a work-out at the gym during lunch or take a lunch break and sit with other Flow Traders colleagues. After lunch, it is only a few hours ahead before our NY office opens, which will give you an opportunity to catch up with the NY finance team. At the end of the day, you can unwind at the Flow bar to catch up with your colleagues with a drink or arcade games, if you feel like it"
What you will do
- Overview of all activities around the Company’s accounting, financial reporting and policies supporting the interpretation, execution and reporting of group operations and activities;
- Overview of the development, integrity and delivery of financial statements and other financial reports for submission to management and shareholders;
- Arranging the (global) monthly month-end closing;
- Ensuring financial information is processed and reported on time;
- Preparing consolidated monthly reporting for the Board and shareholders;
- Compiling, planning & controlling the consolidated annual financial statements in consultation with the Board and liaising with the external auditors;
- Liaising and strengthen collaboration with local offices worldwide;
- Setting up various in-depth financial analysis;
- Close collaboration with internal stakeholders;
- Responsible for checking, initiating and correcting the payroll administration, purchases and sales, general tax subjects and memo entries.
What you need to succeed
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience, preferable in medium/small sized organization;
- Relevant Master degree;
- Good knowledge of Excel and SQL, preferable knowledge of Exact;
- Clear communicator able to effective work with stakeholders
- Knowledge and proven experience of the financial markets is required;
- Continuous drive for automation, standardization and optimization of Finance process;
- English (written and spoken);
- Entrepreneurial, flexible and attention to detail.
