Software Engineer - Java
Overview
We are a technology driven firm looking for talented software developers who share our passion for technology. You will have the opportunity to work on various aspects of our technology including developing and optimizing our trading platform, finding a high-volume data-processing solution for the daily analysis of the firm’s trading activities across asset classes, and augmenting, improving, and redesigning software systems that support and monitor our trading activity in real-time. You will be able to make an immediate and visible contribution automating and improving our firmwide trading infrastructure.
This role is ideal for those who are passionate about working with high-throughput financial data and have a serious interest in a career in quantitative trading. The role will directly impact the group’s trading activities and help drive its revenue. This is an opportunity to work on fun and challenging projects alongside supremely talented programmers and traders, on a team with an exceptionally high retention rate.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 2 - 5 years of software development experience
- Experience designing and developing software components in Java
- Strong practical knowledge of Python and SQL
- Demonstrated experience operating/scripting in a UNIX/Linux environment
- Solid object-oriented analysis and design skills, experience with multithreading and concurrency
- High degree of organization and follow-through with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
The following experience/attributions are a plus
- Some exposure to/work with C++
- Experience with Tibco RV
- Knowledge of FIX protocol
- Familiarity with the Eclipse RCP framework
- Experience with software development lifecycle tools such as Eclipse, JIRA, Git, etc.
