C++ Developer
Role Description
The technological footprint of HAP is rapidly growing. As we continue to support successful components of the stack we are also in a state of constant technical evolution. To meet the growing needs of the business, the firm is seeking highly motivated and mission-oriented Software Engineers. There are many specializations within our team, including System, Quantitative R&D, Strategy and Core trading. We seek high levels of critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity in those we hire. Specific requirements for the role include the following skills.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, EE or similar
- Ability to design and implement high-availability trading systems with low latency and high throughput
- Expertise developing scalable and performance-oriented applications in C++ 11, 14, and 17
- Keen understanding of development processes like OO and TDD, in a lightweight Agile environment
- Comfort in multi-thread + multi-core paradigms and hardware/software interaction (mechanical sympathy)
- Pragmatic attitude to problem solving and ability to balance engineering complexity with time-to-market
Additional skills/experience that will reflect favorably
- Prior experience in the trading industry and familiarity with high performance computing
- Big Picture Thinking: ability to distill core dynamics from code machinery and durable architectural design
