Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team. You will be primarily maintaining the U.S. firm’s books and records, and reviewing our monthly and annual financial statements, with a focus on the regulated broker dealers. 

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing various accounting reconciliations and financial schedules that support the financial statements
  • Collaborating with outside auditors and advisors on accounting policy decisions, U.S. GAAP interpretations, and internal control documentation and decisions
  • Working closely with other team members, including our accounting-specific technology team, to improve processes and ensure the group’s goals are met

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field
  • 9 to 12 years of relevant accounting experience in the broker dealer industry 
  • Series 27 Financial Operations Principal (FINOP) licensure and in-depth knowledge of broker-dealer regulatory filings, required
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a comprehensive understanding of financial statements and legal entity reporting
  • Able to research and interpret relevant/complex accounting literature, with experience in the preparation of technical accounting papers
  • Self-motivated to improve processes where possible
  • Organized with great communication skills; able to build strong collaborative relationships across various groups within the firm
  • Excellent time management skills; able to handle competing priorities and work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; detail-oriented with a “can-do” attitude when resolving issues
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting and reporting using Workday (Financial Data Model) is a plus 
  • Fluency in English required
