Risk Manager

The Risk Manager will be part of our firm's commodity Trading unit in charge of daily risk management functions including assessing individual trader risks and total firm risk in the context of a broader risk management framework.  The Risk Manager will report directly to the Commodity Desk Managers and routinely liaise directly with Traders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of an agreed upon risk management framework and situational contingency plans for each trader.
  • Aggregate firm wide risk as well as flag potential position or individual trader risks.
  • Maintain statistical data on risk, P/L profiles, and other metrics that traders and managers can utilize to optimize results.
  • Have a keen awareness of scheduled market event risk, market conditions and be prepared to report on potential risks within those contexts.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in sciences/mathematics, with quantitative master's highly regarded
  • At least 7 years of experience in an electronic trading and OTC (exchange cleared) risk role gained with a proprietary trading group or hedge fund
  • Solid experience with futures and options brokered trading is mandatory
  • Excellent familiarity with ICE, CME and Euronext product suite: Softs, Ags, and Energy
  • Experience with multi-dimensional portfolio risk management in vanilla & exotic options (Vol arb, product arb, CSOs, and associated futures calendar spreads)
  • Previous verifiable success implementing a risk framework around Greek exposure, term structure, slide scenarios, etc.
  • Proficiency in dissemination of FCM reports and ability to interface with FCM on risk and margin matters
  • Technical familiarity with position files, haircut reports, and various risk management software interfaces
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with traders and managers
