This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our successful Equity Research team, based in our Hong Kong office. You will be working as a Research Associate Analyst supporting a senior analyst covering the Healthcare, pharmaceutical and Biotech sector in HK, China and Japan. The role will be based in Hong Kong office.
As a member of a highly rated research team, you will be involved in writing thematic reports and regular notes that assist in our clients’ investment decisions. You will provide market/industry analysis and financial modelling support to the team and help manage database information. Working on client presentations and answering client inquiries, you will also be involved in helping build our client base and revenue over time. Given the coverage scope of the role, you’ll have the opportunity to explore highly detailed company analysis in addition to a wider, macro level view.
As the successful incumbent, you will have a tertiary qualification in an accounting, finance or biological sciences, medicine, healthcare discipline. You’ll need to have 1-3 years prior experience in equity research and/or investment research area and additional experience in the Healthcare industry would be a plus. You are numerically inclined, with financial analysis and accounting skills. You can complete a robust financial model (three financial statements) from scratch with little guidance and understand the levers of DCF and multiple-based valuation models. Experience with advanced financial concept including share-based compensation and ROIC analysis is preferred. You can write discrete sections of the reports independently with minimal supervision. You must be fluent in English and Mandarin. Japanese is preferred but not required. Your exceptional communication skills (both writing and verbal) will support you in building good relationships with clients and we appreciate you will enjoy communicating at all levels with the sales team.
