Director, Electronic Trading Sales - Futures - New York City

Macquarie is seeking a Director, Electronic Trading Sales to join the Futures Division within our Commodities and Global Markets Group. The role will report to the Managing Director, Electronic Trading Sales in New York and will be primarily focused on the sales, strategy and product capability arising from the Futures Division electronic/algorithmic trading operations. 

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Futures team who have operated in global futures markets for more than 30 years, providing a full range of execution, clearing and financing solutions to corporate and institutional clients as well as providing continuous 24-hour coverage of all major markets globally.

The role includes the following primary responsibilities:

  • Leading a sales team, and operating as an individual salesperson, in the origination of new institutional client execution & clearing relationships.
  • Forming and implementing regional electronic trading strategy & partnering with other regional stakeholders to develop market leading solutions for Macquarie clients
  • Working across regions & business lines to ensure that clients are able to maximize their relationship with Macquarie
  • Ensuring that appropriate risk metrics are in place to effectively monitor the performance of the electronic trading environment.
  • The communication of key risks & performance metrics to senior management on a regular basis and escalate emerging or developing risks as the landscape evolves.
  • Working with support partners to deliver the Division strategy. In this context, contribute thought leadership,
  • Monitoring the industry to identify Exchange/Regulatory changes applicable to electronic trading and maintains a comprehensive inventory, and manage/lead & communicate any necessary change
  • Working directly with a diverse set of stakeholders including Sales and Trading, External Clients, Risk Management, Compliance, Technology and Operations.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of Futures products and market structure
  • 10+ years sales experience in electronic trading
  • Strong relationships with institutional clients such as hedge funds & asset managers
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations (i.e. MIFID) applicable to electronic trading
  • Experience running a Futures electronic trading business and has familiarity with the tools, services, marketing, and other offerings of such business
  • Ability to independently lead projects and drive change with Senior Business and Risk Management teams
  • Experience in risk assessment/management and implementation of procedures and standards across all aspects of electronic trading

Salary range for this position: $157,500 - $275,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
