You will join our collaborative team within Macquarie Group Treasury’s Liquidity / Markets division. This is a unique opportunity which will necessitate you to think strategically, be forward-thinking and proactive, and consider broadly how internal and external factors will shape Macquarie's business activities.

We are looking for an Senior Analyst to join the Liquidity Risk team within Group Treasury’s Liquidity / Markets division. The team has a broad mandate and is responsible for developing Macquarie’s internal liquidity risk frameworks, interpreting and applying the regulatory liquidity framework, as well as monitoring and managing compliance with key liquidity metrics. The team also partners closely with Macquarie’s investment banking and asset management business units.

Within this role, you will:

  • Develop Macquarie’s internal liquidity stress scenario analysis, with a focus on driving uplifts in forecasting and analytical capabilities.
  • Perform enterprise-wide stress testing exercises, with a specific focus on projecting Macquarie’s liquidity position under a range of stress scenario assumptions.
  • Develop and apply Macquarie’s internal liquidity risk management frameworks, including liquidity scenario analysis, liquidity assumptions and treatments, and regional liquidity risk management.
  • Interpret the regulatory liquidity frameworks (APS 210 / Basel) and apply these frameworks to Macquarie’s business activities.
  • Lead Group Treasury’s review and approval of new product and business proposals for Macquarie Capital and Macquarie Asset Management, with a specific focus on internal liquidity treatments.
  • Advise senior management and business units on the implications of internal and regulatory liquidity frameworks for the management of Macquarie’s balance sheet.

Your technical skills and qualifications will include:

  • Outstanding academic background in a financial or quantitative degree, e.g. actuarial, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, coupled with an ability to understand and succinctly explain complex data sets and concepts
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Interacting with stakeholders and managing competing priorities
  • A high level of attention to detail and commercial acumen
  • The following experience will be viewed favourably:
    • Previous experience within a Treasury function with exposure to liquidity risk or similar
    • Knowledge of the banking sector and regulatory environment
    • Understanding of accounting concepts and principles including profit and loss and balance sheet analysis

This role will give you exposure to senior stakeholders and the broader Group Treasury team, including the Liquidity / Markets team responsible for managing short-term liquidity and Funding team who manage and execute long-term debt issuance, banking relationships and funds transfer pricing.
