An opportunity exists for a highly organised and detail orientated individual to join our Global Systematic Investments team with the Public Investments division of our Macquarie Asset Management group in Sydney.
Macquarie Asset Management’s Public Investments division traces its roots to 1929 and partners with institutional and individual clients to deliver specialist active investment capabilities across global equities, fixed income, and multi-asset solutions. Our conviction-based, long-term approach to investing has led clients to entrust us to manage more than $A520 billion in assets (as of 30 September 2022).
As a member of the Systematic Investment team your primary role will be to help manage and implement our growing number of strategies which span across global markets. The role will be responsible for the successful implementation of multiple systematic equity portfolios, the monitoring of on-going progress and the necessary adaptation required to navigate changes in prevailing market conditions and client activity. Successful candidates will also be expected to continually identify areas for improvements and apply a structured and systematic approach to improve outcomes.
If you have a strong achievement drive and a detail orientated mindset with a natural interest in investing in Public Markets, then this could be the opportunity for you.
With a tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as finance, computer science or engineering, you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in coordinating or implementing strategies, ideally within an asset management environment. Advance python skills will be essential and strong SQL, shell scripting and other programming experience will also be favourable. Proficiency with Blackrock Aladdin functionality and supporting platform architecture would also be advantageous. You will be able to demonstrate previous experience of deploying a systematic mindset to problem solving, with an ability to design, refine and implement robust/repeatable processes.
You will possess excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate, clearly and credibly. You will be a self-starter with an ability to operate with minimal guidance. You will have strong attention to detail and a demonstrated level of client commitment. You will also have the ability to use unconventional and creative solutions to solve problems and an ability to work as part of a team whilst developing strong relationships across the business.
