COG - Operational Risk Senior Manager
Join a team of experienced risk professionals and partner with our Commodities & Global Markets business to drive a strong risk culture across Technology.
Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets group provides clients with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities.
In this role, you are responsible to ensure that Technology Risk is managed effectively, in line with Macquarie’s Operational Risk Management Frameworks, associated policies and overall risk appetite. You’ll work with the team to drive a strong, proactive risk culture and a clear understanding of the risk framework.
You will work collaboratively with Technology and senior business stakeholders to identify operational issues and control breakdowns and advise on proposed responses including the design of sustainable remediation strategies. You will be involved in incident root cause investigation, risk workshops, targeted reviews and deep dives which includes driving adoption of data enabled reviews to support process automation and digitisation. The role will require you to:
- conduct training & drive general risk awareness
- perform assurance reviews based on risk criteria while leveraging data tools such as Alteryx/ other
- support the team’s exploration of other technology solutions to further drive digitisation
- perform regular risk reporting
- presenting clear and concise findings to the team and business leads.
To be successful, you will have Technology expertise with operational risk management, technology operations and ideally assurance with data analytics experience. Ideally, you will have experience gained in-house or working with clients in a professional services environment. Candidates with Institutional Banking or Markets experience will be well-regarded.
You will have the ability to think laterally, problem solve as well as grasp abstract and complex concepts. Excellent communication skills are vital, both verbal and written, which include the ability to initiate and lead conversations with business leaders and risk management colleagues relating to anticipated or emerging risks and issues. You will be highly motivated and comfortable working within a dynamic, fast paced and enterprise agile environment.
