Finance Central Business Management - Risk & Governance Senior Manager/Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Governance Senior Manager/Manager to join the Finance Central Business Management team.

As part of the Finance division of Macquarie’s Finance Management Group, the Finance Central Business Management team supports the Co-Heads of Finance from a Strategy, Risk, Budget & Operations perspective.

You will be reporting into the Finance Chief Operating Officer, in a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the co-Heads of Finance, senior leaders across the global Finance functions and wider risk teams. Your role will be focused on ensuring effective risk management while also contributing to operational objectives for the global Finance team, building your understanding of how the Finance function is run.

Your key responsibilities will include a usual ‘book of work’, however given the nature of this team, will also include ad-hoc activities. Therefore, you will be comfortable with a diverse set of responsibilities, and adaptability and flexibility are a must. Your book of work will include:

  • Co-ordinate governance meetings, prepare materials & speaker notes for senior management and perform secretary role in key senior leadership meetings
  • Pro-actively identify, monitor and report on key risk and performance indicators for Finance Management, sense checking and challenging results where these come from wider risk teams
  • Partner with Finance functions globally to confidently ‘review & challenge’ senior stakeholders, provide practical advice, and drive improvements of key risk and performance indicators
  • Support risk learning & development, promoting risk culture and the compliance of all Macquarie and Finance policies across all Finance teams globally
  • Support the co-Heads of Finance in their BEAR responsibilities validation process
  • Support other risk initiatives and activities including monitoring 2 weeks continuous absence and mandatory training.
  • Support the annual development of the Finance Strategy and contribute to operational objectives as required which may include budget tracking, headcount management, return to office, DEI considerations and voice survey analysis & recommendations.

In this role, you will gain exposure to senior leaders in Macquarie. You will be encouraged and emboldened to be inquisitive and to challenge the status quo. This could be, for example, by identifying and delivering process improvements that enhance our controls and drive greater global efficiency. We value your input and we want you to hit the ground running. We need you to be delivery-focused and have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with multiple and senior stakeholder groups.

To be successful, you will have a risk management background, with working experience in internal audit or control based external audit preferred with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are passionate about diversity and inclusion and empower our staff to aim for excellence in everything we do. We believe that flexibility is a key driver to our people’s success and welcome the opportunity to discuss what flexibility means to you which can include part time.

About the Financial Management Group

In our Financial Management Group you will be part of a team that provides strategic analysis and advice on capital, funding, liquidity, tax and financial performance to support the growth of Macquarie's businesses around the world. You will join a team that ensures Macquarie continues to meet its financial, regulatory and tax reporting compliance obligations in the jurisdictions in which we operate, and a team that maintains significant relationships on behalf of the Group.
