Senior Risk Manager | Private Markets

Join our Macquarie Asset Management Private Markets Risk team, reporting to the APAC Head of Risk. The team support the Macquarie Asset Management Private Markets divisions in providing risk guidance and review on transactions, new products and opportunities, and ensuring a strong risk management framework.

Working closely with executives across the Macquarie Asset Management Private Markets business, Macquarie’s central Risk Management Group and other specialist areas of Macquarie, our team act as subject matter experts who reinforce a strong culture of risk management.

This role will require occasional domestic and international travel.

What role will you play?

As a Senior Risk Manager, you will play a key role in implementing and developing the Private Markets risk strategy through guidance on implementation of framework and policy queries, performing control assurance to ensure critical controls meet design and operating effectiveness standards, and ensuring timely and appropriate completion of Asset Risk Management Framework Assessments, service provider reviews, and general transaction compliance.

Working closely with the APAC Head of Risk you will provide support and advice to transaction and asset management teams and prepare risk reporting and insights for presentation to Senior Management. You will perform regular risk monitoring activities across the global business and escalate issues to the appropriate Regional Head of Risk. You will also be responsible for incident management including investigation of root cause, recording of operational risk incidents, and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are implemented, alongside supporting the semi-annual risk and control self-assessment process.

What you offer

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry within financial or non-financial risk management, internal or external audit or ESG
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with senior business and risk colleagues to drive, challenge, and influence, as well as lead conversations regarding anticipated and emerging issues
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and work both independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • A continuous improvement mindset and be comfortable interpreting and balancing commercial issues within a risk framework.
