Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst | Front Office

We have 4x exciting opportunities in our Commodities and Global Markets group, to join outstanding teams supporting Data and Change, Finance Transformation, Operational Risk and User Access Management transformation initiatives.

 

What impact will you have?

Working closely with financial markets products (e.g. fixed income, equities, commodities trading), you will explore data, risk controls, and system requirements to help transform the business. These roles offer great variety - from managing current-state initiatives, to future-state requirements gathering, where you will have visibility over front-to-back system flows and lifecycles across platforms and financial products. You will also:

  • Engage effectively with global stakeholders across Trading, Technology, and downstream teams/support areas and understand their key drivers.
  • Establish and document detailed requirements/user stories for future state transformation, define current and target state process documentation, and develop and implement appropriate solutions and deliver on project outcomes.
  • Support the business teams in communicating requirements to ensure they are appropriately reviewed and understood.

Of our 4x open roles, you will support with one of the below projects:

Data and Change – you will analyse products to define their data sources, and map data inputs to support various use cases such as capital and liquidity reporting. Collaborating with business users you will specify business rules and identify/resolve product data quality issues using enterprise data governance frameworks.

Finance Transformation – within our Data & Change team, you will support Finance Transformation, understanding finance subledgers/general ledgers, and supporting with vendor selection.

Operational Risk Transformation – you will ensure all downstream requirements are automated and support change impact analysis, partnering closely with front office staff, divisional leads, and HR and Technology teams. 

User Access Management – within a global team, you will define critical processes across high-risk applications and unauthorised trading controls. You will transform, uplift, operationalise, and deliver refreshed controls, and define/implement reporting measures that monitor their efficacy. You will ensure front office requirements are considered in Macquarie-wide solutions by centralised Identity and Cyber Security Technology teams.

 

What skills will you bring?

With strong financial markets products, operational risk controls, financial or capital markets domain knowledge, you will bring proven experience as a Business Analyst/Senior Business Analyst within a financial institution. You will have delivered projects from initiation to implementation, adapt to change quickly, and manage deadlines with ease.

You will have established your reputation as a strong and clear communicator, confident in presenting findings to relevant audiences during key milestones, and keeping your stakeholders engaged and informed whilst holding sight of project deliverables and deadlines. You will also bring:

  • An ability to assimilate information and a curiosity to ask appropriate questions to develop business and functional requirements.
  • An excellent analytical capacity, supported by an attention to detail.
  • A focus on high quality and timely delivery, well-developed process skills, and the ability to prioritise/manage parallel tasks and project deliverables within a complex operating structure.
  • Confident influencing stakeholders at various levels across business, finance, technical and project teams.
  • An understanding of financial products, finance systems, controls, middle office operations, and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives, along with their associated data.
  • Experience and comfort dealing with large data sets and a recognition for the critical importance of data, with a passion for getting it right.
  • Exposure to enterprise data principles and big data platforms / tools such as SQL, Alteryx, and Dataiku is desirable.
