Analyst - Private Equity, Real Assets - Mumbai

An exciting opportunity exists for an Analyst to join our Macquarie Asset Management (MAM), Real Assets division in Mumbai.

You will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced, challenging environment supporting our Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund (MAIF) series (based in Singapore) which has a mandate to invest equity and equity-like instruments directly into businesses and assets throughout Asia-Pacific within infrastructure and adjacent sectors.

Based in Mumbai, you will primarily focus on the coverage, execution, and asset management of infrastructure opportunities in both India and more broadly across the Southeast Asian (SEA) region.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of transactions which include investments, divestments and refinancing for MAIF.  As a member of the team, you will support with the execution of investment and divestment opportunities, as well as manage the existing fund assets by executing activities such as corporate governance, asset valuation and performance analysis through financial modelling and scenario analysis. You will be required to review asset acquisitions and divestments, including analysis of the impact of these transactions and an appropriate funding strategy.

Execution of transactions will include initial term sheet negotiations, managing due diligence, negotiation and closure of final documents and securing internal approvals at various stages by appropriately presenting the acquisition or divestment opportunity. You will also lead complete cycle of divestment execution and provide support in originating new transactions and ideas. You will work closely with other professional advisors in a transaction setting, including legal and financial advisors. You will also be involved in preparation of management reports, board materials, and marketing and investor relations materials for internal and external use.

You will have a strong tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics or Accounting, and at least one year of proven experience in investment banking, Private Equity or the infrastructure sector, ideally with hands on experience in infrastructure M&A and asset management activities in SEA. Ideally you will be very proficient at building complex financial models and valuation concepts. You will have strong financial modelling and analysis skills, supplemented by your experience in the funds management business and operations (fund valuation, investor reporting, fund performance analysis, etc). You should also have a high achievement drive with an analytical and entrepreneurial mindset.
