Senior Financial Crime Operational Risk Manager

Join our fast paced, diverse and rapidly growing Macquarie Capital first line defence Non-Financial Risk team, who lead financial crime risk across Capital Markets, Principal Investing, and Equities trading. This team are trusted advisors and serve as Macquarie Capital’s key representatives on Group-wide financial crime transformation projects.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of financial crime frameworks and controls and drive implementation within our business. You will partner with front office teams to evaluate financial crime risks in our deals, processes and systems and recommend tailored and practical risk mitigation strategies and controls.

As a trusted adviser and facilitator of audits, you will lead financial crime-related risk assessments and assurance reviews, and investigations into financial crime incidents and issues. You will also work closely with the business to implement solutions and help build consensus among senior business leaders and stakeholders in relation to project objectives, target operating models, gap assessments, and the path to implementation.

As a Senior Manager you will represent Macquarie Capital on key forums to help shape the direction of strategic financial crime projects spanning anti-money laundering, sanctions, and anti-bribery and corruption.

What you offer

  • 7+ year experience in a financial crime, legal, consulting, audit, or operational risk role
  • Strong project management and organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to solving complex problems
  • Experience interpreting and balancing commercial issues within a risk framework
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels.
