Join our Real Estate team as an Investment Funds Lawyer based in our Luxembourg office.

The Real Estate division of Macquarie Asset Management is a global real estate investment business with an extensive network and capability across real estate investment management, asset management and direct investment.  Our team of over 200 real estate professionals, across 28 cities in 18 markets, provide access to opportunities across the real estate spectrum – from strategies to access emerging sectors through growing specialist real estate platforms and asset creation, to the disciplined investment and management of core and core plus real estate.

You will possess strong legal and interpersonal skills, an interest in private funds and real estate, and the ability to acquire new skills and/or product and sector knowledge in a fast-paced work environment. 

In this role, you will:

  • Play a key role in fund formation and fundraising, as well as ongoing fund management, including supporting transactional activity such as acquisitions and divestments
  • Provide legal advice on day-to-day regulatory and governance matters, and on an as-needed basis with respect to asset management issues that may impact the fund, such as corporate reorganizations
  • Co-ordinate and monitor the provision of external legal advice
  • Monitor and report compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures
  • Provide legal support to fund boards and committees
  • Liaise with investors, regulators and other key stakeholders
  • Assist with the further growth of the business

To be successful, you will have:

  • 6+ years post qualification experience, either at top-tier law firm or in-house
  • Strong experience in investment fund formation (including fundraising) and management, as well as associated regulatory and governance matters
  • Familiarity with M&A transactions desirable  
  • Real estate sector experience
  • Possess a strong sense of commercial acumen
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Enjoy assuming responsibility and be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative and a good eye for detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. German language skills will be considered an advantage
  • An ability to work collaboratively
