Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer, you'll have extensive experience delivering high-quality digital platforms based on the Java umbrella of technologies. Encompassing the skills and experience of a Senior Software Engineer/Architect, we expect you to have at least 1+ years AEM or 5+ years Java development experience.  

With this experience, you'll be instrumental in the creation of elegant solutions to complex problems, while also leading the technical implementation throughout the lifecycle of a project. As a team leader, you’ll ensure that project deliverables meet time, scope and quality goals. As a technically excellent programmer, you’ll have a deep understanding of software engineering principles as well as the latest industry trends.  

Technical Skills: 

  • Strong AEM Development skills to design solid end-to-end solutions for our reputable Banking and Financial Services sector 
  • Experience in designing content lifecycle using Adobe and Adobe Marketing tools (Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Target) 
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps processes around CI/CD practices and tools. 
  • Development of components, templates, and workflows for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)  
  • Develop and design content-driven solutions using AEM, Java, OSGI, Sling, etc. 
  • Technical solution design and documentation 
  • Technical task breakdown and work estimates 
  • Understanding and experience in working within an Agile environment 
  • Be a champion of Quality Assurance and testing to ensure a good end result for our stakeholders 
  • Expertise in integration for RESTful APIs for rich systems integration with in-house and 3rd party services 

Must have: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (or similar) 
  • Demonstrated experience using full stack web developer technologies including Java, JSP, Servlets, ReactJS/AngularJS, HTML/CSS AJAX, XML and JSON 
  • AEM expertise (Ideally AEM 6.5) 
  • Hands on experience in creating Sightly Components and Templates, Sling Models, Java Services, Scheduled Jobs, Event Listeners, Workflows, Servlets in Adobe AEM 
  • Experience with different SDLC methodologies, and Agile/Scrum Project Implementation  
  • Good communication, teamwork and customer interaction skills  
  • Ability to mentor, motivate and inspire the team 
  • An entrepreneurial, analytic and positive mindset with a personable and professional approach 
  • A risk mitigation mindset to ensure our systems are error-free and running at peak performance 
  • Collaborative approach to working across teams around the business 
  • Experience with automated test tools 
  • Network/Digital Security basics  

Even better if: 

  • Certified AEM Architect/Lead  
  • Experience with AEM/CQ/DAM upgrades and migrations  
  • Experience working in a MarTech space with good knowledge of marketing tools (Salesforce, Google Analytics, Adobe Target etc) 
  • Architecting Experience in AEM with any deployment architectures
