Senior Associate/Executive- Data Analyst (Freight Analytics), Energy Markets
Opportunity for a commercially orientated Data / Freight Analyst, with focus on global oil, metal and freight market, to join our Energy Markets team.
In this role you will use your analytical and commercial skills to help take our trading desk capabilities to the next level. You’ll get to work in a vibrant global environment, partnering closely with traders and analysts based in the UK, the US, Europe, Australia, and Singapore, as well as providing time zone coverage of the US and European markets. You’ll be assisting members of various desks with day-to-day analysis on freight market and generate insights from data, market research and providing analytical support along with developing a view on freight market. You’ll also have the opportunity to build and improve analytical models to improve the team’s trading capabilities.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have a university degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a quantitative discipline. In addition, you’ll bring 5-6 years of experience in petroleum, metals, freight trading, chemical analysis, agriculture, refining markets and practical working knowledge of freight market.
You will display proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel and other relevant data management and visualisation tools. You’ll have the ability to work within a fast-paced environment, be resourceful and demonstrate strong data management and data presentation skills. Good geographical knowledge paired with an understanding of global oil, metals, and agriculture movement routes as well as knowledge of Power BI, Python and data science will be an added advantage.
