Risk Director – Public Investments

An opportunity to lead non-financial Risk across Europe and take responsibility for risk management in our Luxembourg entity.

Use your exceptional understanding of risk management to ensure non-financial risk is appropriately addressed and managed within our Public Investments division.

Based in Luxembourg, you will coordinate and execute regional non-financial risk activities in Europe and report directly to the Macquarie Asset Management Public Investments Head of Risk Management. You will have the opportunity to apply your skills and experience to play a key role in supporting the implementation and development of the risk strategy. Our Risk team supports the business in providing risk guidance on new products, business initiatives and implementing a strong risk management framework, including assessing that critical controls of the business are designed and operating effectively.

You will be integral in contributing to the European non-financial Risk function and providing support to the Macquarie Asset Management Leadership in managing and monitoring Macquarie’s risk framework.  A core component of the role will include contributing the design and delivery of the Macquarie Asset Management Public Investment Risk Management controls assurance program, portfolio of projects, incident management, and implementation of overall operational risk management framework elements. You will also participate in global risk management activities and initiatives, leading these where required.

We’re looking for candidates who also have a demonstrable ability to lead the ongoing assessment of the risk framework operating within the Luxembourg business and the experience to become our Registered Risk Officer for the Luxembourg entity.  As a confident risk manager with strong problem-solving skills, you will provide advice on internal controls and risk frameworks across Europe and globally. 

You’ll bring experience with European financial and asset management regulatory frameworks (including interacting with European regulators); experience of non-financial risk framework implementation; experience developing and leading control assurance work and excellent communication skills in English, French, and German.
