Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst

This is an opportunity to make an impact on a multi-year business-critical program that is tasked with transforming Macquarie’s end-to-end Scenario Analysis and Projections capabilities.  This includes Stress Testing and Financial Planning & Analysis business processes, and encompasses transformation of associated Organisational Design, Technology and Data.   

The role sits within the RMG Financial Risk projects team, which is a central group of business project professionals who face into our client divisions being Reg Affairs and Aggregate Risk (RAAR), Credit Risk and Market Risk. Our book of strategic initiatives includes groupwide transformative programs and large regulatory programs. The role offers a great career path for an organised mind with an interest and curiosity in Financial Markets and Financial Risk. We are open to both permanent and contract resources for this opportunity.

As a Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst, you will: 

  • Utilise your experience in business facing projects focusing on strategic front to back transformation;  
  • Build relationships quickly and promote collaboration across teams and divisions;  
  • Map current state processes and operating model;  
  • Develop future state operating model options and facilitate business discussions to gain endorsement; 
  • Facilitate review and uplift of scenario design and development capabilities; 
  • Develop future state business processes and user stories, and facilitate business discussions to gain endorsement;  
  • Work with the model design / build team on developing future state business processes and user stories; 
  • Work with data analysts to feed future state business process design into data requirements and delivery planning;   
  • Contribute to the development of testing artefacts including approach, plan and test cases and support test execution where required;  
  • Support testing where needed; and  
  • Support go-live transition. 

To be successful in the role, you will bring the following: 

  • Several years’ experience as a Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst; 
  • Prior experience in business areas related to Scenario Analysis, Stress Testing, Financial Planning & Analysis, Capital/Liquidity, Credit Risk, Market Risk or Regulatory Reporting; 
  • Prior experience with forecasting and planning tools such as Anaplan, TM1 or other; 
  • Experience in a Financial Services or Consulting environment where you were able to understand business objectives and outcomes and translate them into requirements and key operating model, governance and business process changes; 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with and influence Senior Stakeholders;  
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and distribute significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and a need to manage multiple pieces of work concurrently;   
  • A high degree of self-motivation with the ability to make things happen; and  
  • Ability to guide junior team members.
