Banking Non-Financial Risk Senior Manager
About the role
You will join our Banking Non-Financial Risk (NFR) team within our Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Group as a Senior Manager and work within our ecosystem to enhance the risk and control environment.
This is a varied role and currently working in a hybrid model both remotely and in our Shelley St offices. If you have expertise in risk and control management and a keen interest in supporting the business design and develop their control environment to manage operational risk, we would like to hear from you.
Key responsibilities include
- Identify improvements to the design of controls to manage material risks
- Lead a program of work with the business to uplift (design and develop) our specific Banking controls
- Support the business manage their material risks and controls
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the ecosystem to understand end to end process
- Provide commercial and insightful advice and agree actions to optimise management of risks
- Develop ongoing relationships with key business stakeholders
- Share and adopt learnings and utilise expertise across the broader Group and industry in relation to risk management and best practice controls.
About you
- Be an experienced risk professional with a proven track-record in operational risk, ideally within Banking and with experience
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Law, Technology or a similar discipline
- Good understanding of regulations and industry best practices
- Ability to understand the root cause of an issue and identify potential solutions
- Demonstrate a high degree of commercial acumen, providing valued insights and strategic direction
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Possess effective data analytical skills or a strong desire to learn
- Curious to learn about emerging technology
- Can confidently communicate with and influence stakeholders
- Have strong written communication skills
