National Manager - Listed Markets (ETF Specialist and Sales Lead) | Macquarie Asset Management

Macquarie Asset Management Public Markets division (MPI) has an exciting opportunity for a National Manager – Listed Markets (ETF Specialist and Sales Lead) to join its team in Sydney.

In the National Manager – Listed Markets role you will work closely with MPI’s regional investment teams, operational teams, and sales and marketing teams to build, manage, and grow MPI’s ETF platform.  You will help lead the development of MPI’s ETF business, the launch of ETFs on the platform, and be responsible for management of the Australian platform once operational. 

This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on the business in Australia, and to play a leading role in the development of MPI’s ETF platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will report into the Head of Wholesale and Strategic Accounts to lead the sales and distribution launch of Macquarie’s ETF’s working closely dealing with broker and private bank research teams
  • Work closely with product team on new product development
  • You will lead sales team with listed products; working closely with US ETF team on product alignment and launch
  • You will have an opportunity to manage the ETF BDM team as we build out the listed sales team
  • Technical sales content & training for the sales team
  • Partners with marketing team on national strategy and marketing/supporting material
  • Attends select adviser meetings as required
  • Work closely with research team on ETF ratings and platform approval
  • Attend ETF conference presentations and attendance

Ideally your background and experience will include:

  • 10+ years asset management experience, with knowledge of the Australian asset management industry
  • 5+ years experience with the Australian ETF market, knowledge of the Australian ETF ecosystem and its participants, understanding of investor channels
  • 5+ years experience building and leading ETF platform, launching and taking new ETF’s to market
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and demonstrated experience of managing project initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders
  • Strong financial background, experience with financial models and business planning and budgeting
  • Have a strong sense of accountability and integrity, combined with a strong risk management mindset
  • Masters/MBA or CFA preferred
