Middle Office Analyst - Commodity Markets

This is an exciting opportunity within the Commodities and Global Markets Chief Operating Office team. The desk provides clients with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities.

What role will you play?

You  will be responsible for position and P&L reporting, which will also include operational management of any position models and manual processes, while engaging with stakeholders to resolve P&L queries. You will act as the point of escalation for issues within automatic trades and support the front office with the entry of trades, as well as working closely with risk and finance teams to ensure all price curves used to value positions are correctly calculated and implemented into the appropriate tools and systems daily. You will be working alongside the trading team with the initial set up and approval of new trade counterparties. This will include acting as the liaison to in contacting counterparties to obtain all information requirements including financial, operational and collateral and/or credit requirements in order to facilitate/meet Macquarie’s counterparty acceptance processes. You will also be calculating deal exposure including ongoing communication with corporate credit group to obtain timely trade approvals, as well as leading initiatives to improve middle office processes. This will include identifying areas for improving accuracy, efficiency and the speed and quality of data.

What you offer

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience which may include internships and placement year
  • A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant professional qualification
  • Ability to demonstrate learning agility across new processes, technology and applications
  • Proven ability to deliver timely high-quality work and prioritize in a high pressure environment
  • Fluent English, written and spoken, and ability to work in Switzerland
